Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build applications for the Android platform
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Mentor and coach the junior eningeers
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
Goals:
- Deliver the feature on time and ensure production rollout
- Swift resolution to the production issues within SLA timeline
- Mentor and train the junior iOS developers
- Build a sclable architecture for the features developed
- Upkeep with the latest technology and incorporate the same the delivery
Day-to-day activities:
- Designing and building mobile applications for Android platform
- Collaborating with the design team to define app features
- Ensuring quality and performance of the application to specifications
- Identifying potential problems and resolving application bottlenecks.
- Fixing application bugs before the final release
- Publishing application on App Store.
- Maintaining the code and atomization of the application
- Work with Product Manager, Tech Lead, Test Engineer, Backend development and others for integration and release
- Code review and coaching the junior team members
Skills and Qualification
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline from reputed university
- Demonstrated the duties by developing a product in which design was a strategic differentiator and added lasting value to the company
- Ability to delve into a design problem to any depth and explain the interplay between
- At least 8+ years of experience in product software development of which at least last 2 years should be in a Android Tech lead role
- Minimum 4+ years experience in Android Development
- Proven knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes
- Should have 1 or 2 apps which are published and in production in Playstores or other stores with a 0.5 million + users
- Experince in working with Product Manager, Engineering Managers, Architect, Backend engineers, Test Enigneers
- Exposure to working on Embeded devices and Payment is plus
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Proven knowledge of Android UI design principles, interface guidelines, patterns, and best practices and Kotlin
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces, such as “touch”
- Familiarity with the use of additional sensors, such as gyroscopes and accelerometers
- Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
